During the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, the popularly known RX-Vision Concept was unveiled with the preview of a new sports car which the company plans to introduce soon. Even though the brand has not announced the date of launch of the production-spec model, 2017 seems to be most likely as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of Mazda’s first rotary-powered car.
The Mazda sports car is an undeniably a sleek and sexy 2+2 coupe. Its most tantalizing feature is its brand’s Kodo design language in the form of a Wankel rotary engine which would be lurking under its long, low hood. Its most visually arresting elements comprises of an interesting slimline headlights in combination with its swooping semi-circle LED daytime running light which is paced just above the headlight housing itself. The prominent body lines and curves form the hallmarks of the front, especially along the elongated bonnet and the air intakes. The rear becomes noteworthy owning to the short deck-lid, simple taillights, steeply raked window, and dual circular exhaust pipes. The rotary engine was first launched in 2012 but had to be retracted owning to various defects. But after working on all its aspects, it is getting relaunched. Let’s hope that this time it remains in the long haul.
